Virtual Hope Box

One of the most downloaded apps offered by the Defense Health Agency. I led end-to-end UX design and usability testing for a full redesign of this mental health toolkit for active duty service members — modernizing a dated interface while preserving the tools users depend on.

Usability Study

VHB Usability Study

Led a moderated usability study on the Guide Me section of Virtual Hope Box — one of the most downloaded apps offered by the Defense Health Agency. Working with a team of four, I designed the test protocol, built a clickable prototype, and facilitated sessions with five veterans and military-adjacent participants. The study produced eight documented findings and actionable design recommendations that directly shaped the next iteration of the app.

DHA MedCard

The original DHA MedCard app was so outdated that users struggled to identify basic features. I led a full end-to-end redesign, starting with competitive analysis and low-fidelity wireframes, through a five-person usability study that surfaced a critical insight: the app's users and its patients are two different people, and the design never made that clear. That finding drove the most significant changes to the final product.

The DHA App Library is one of the most visited pages on the health.mil website — a central discovery platform for the Defense Health Agency's full suite of web and mobile apps. I led a full redesign from initial sketching through high-fidelity prototype, drawing on App Store and Google Play as reference points to deliver a modern, responsive interface across mobile, tablet, and desktop.

A body of logo and brand identity work for Defense Health Agency applications, spanning 2022–2025. Each mark was designed for healthcare and mental health audiences where clarity, approachability, and emotional resonance matter — from VR mental health tools to prescription management apps.
